A year ago, one of my beagle puppies determined to walk away from home. . We had her for 12 years and she was best buddy with our other dog Muttley. we owned her for 15 years before she decided it was time to move on never to return.

Her name was Scoobie and she was a great beagle puppy.Muttley was treated like a little baby by Scoobie or maybe I should say like royalty, as far as she was concerned she was the salt of the earth.

It was the saddest I had ever seen Muttley when Scobbied walked out on us with his tail between his legs.It was then I began reading up on beagle dogs and I got as much info as I could about them .Muttley loved larger than average size dogs so we determined why break the habit of a lifetime and adhere to what we knew best. It was only then that the real discovery took off in earnest to find where we could find a dog.

I truly wish to be able to go to the stock breeder to see just what kind of a beagle I was getting.All my buddies at work were lending a hand trying to find the correct breeder .

Barbara who is a great friend of mine checked out where she was living to see if she would have any better luck than me I live in the city and Barbara lives out in the Country maybe fifty miles, away from me. Also Barbara is very near to Long Island and we know that there were a couple of dog breeders there in Long Island..

So Barbara picked up the call and made an assignment to see the breeders in the flesh.The pups soon arrived in early 2004 and we were thrilled when we got the news. Barbara gave me the information and I called and talked to the breeders and set up an appointment to go visit the Doberman puppys.

Well, what a day it was when I first visited a beagle dog , Oh My God, they were so cute I wanted all of them.It took four trips down there to select the dog that I wanted, it was one of the most difficult decisions of my life. Luckily, I didnt have to make a determination as one of the dogs made it for me, this little chap went straight for my shoes and started to mess with my shoelaces.

In April our new comer who we call Smurf became best friends with Muttley.

Smurf has made even the most unhappy person laugh and grin, how could you not like that face.Smurf is a quick mover when it comes to the ladies and by the looks of thing we are going to become grandparents again.
